Some of the places we will explore are Pushkar, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jawai, Jaisalmer and Jaipur. Cities that will explode your senses, be a feast for your eyes and expand you heart with their rich history and culture. Riding through and connecting with many smaller towns and villages along the way.

Itinerary

Day -1: Arrive In Jaipur

Arrive In Jaipur

Your first day is all about a smooth arrival in Jaipur: you’re met at the airport and transferred to the hotel in the city centre. Those who arrive in Delhi can also plan to go to Agra on same day trip by train. Extensions available at extra cost.

In the evening get introduced with your tour guide and motorcycles. Your tour guide will share important info about your Royal Enfield trip

Day -2: Jaipur Sightseeing – Ranthambore 180kms

Jaipur Sightseeing – Ranthambore 180kms

Early morning breakfast before we head off on a visit of the Pink city covering, Amber Palace, Wind Palace, Water Palace all the while getting to know your bikes in the Pink City of Jaipur.

Our real ride begins when we head off to the wonders of Ranthambore National Park. Right into the heart of wild India, a Tiger sanctuary.

Once the hunting grounds of Maharajas, now one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in Northen India.

With a huge variety of wild animals and bird life, Ranthambore will enthral and captivate you. Overnight in Ranthambore National Park

Day -3: Ranthambore - Bundi 150kms

Ranthambore - Bundi 150kms

Early morning, enjoy jungle safari in the park. Our safari giving us the opportunity to see one of the majestic Tigers that roam the hills and jungle.

Drive through small villages and beautiful countryside. The landscape is rustic, and you will see men wearing colourful turbans every few kilometres. Bundi is a town with architectural wonders, in particular its magnificent stepwells. An ancient architectural marvel.

With so many temples, Bundi is also known as Chhoti Kashi (Little Varanasi.) Overnight in Bundi.

Day -4: Bundi -Udaipur 264kms

Bundi -Udaipur 264kms

After breakfast we saddle up and head to the city of Lakes.

Good Vibrations home city. Voted one of the top 10 most beautiful cities. Udaipur has a magic and light to it that help you understand why we call it home.

The last of the 4 capitals of the great state of Mewar. Surrounded by the Ancient Aravalli’s, and never conquered. Udaipur is a princely city with one of the largest lived in palaces in the world.

Udaipur has a gentle feel to and is easy to navigate on your bike, by tuktuk or with your own two feet. One of our joys is to ride the city and its limits in the cool evening and soak up the bustling atmosphere.

There are so many places to eat, shop or just wander and people watch. In the centre of the old town is a very scared Jagdish Hindu Temple dating from the 1600s and is most worthy of a climb of the steps to the temple entrance.

Day -5: Udaipur – Rest Day

After a leisurely breakfast we will have time to explore the alleyways and lanes of the old city and lake side cafes. With some special activities planned to make your time in Udaipur magical.

Day -6: Udaipur – Jojawar 140kms

Udaipur – Jojawar 140kms

Departing the beauty of Udaipur, chasing bends around the Aravalli hills, we head off for a leisurely ride to Jojawar. Visiting the royal temple of Nagda and then stopping at the Kumbalgarh fort along the way to be mesmerized by the size of the area and the vast walls of the fort which did their best to keep many invaders away. Certainly, a great spot for photographs that capture this historic place.

Arriving at the small town of Jojawar we are in for an absolute treat with our accommodation. A right royal treat.

Day -7: Jojawar – Jawai 100kms

Jojawar – Jawai 100kms

For a short while, we will leave our two wheeled companions parked up to rest and drive a few kilometres on four wheels to Kamlighat railway station. We will board an old British narrow-gauge train and embark on a short journey to Phulad, some 1hr 15 minutes afar. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy this preserved piece of history listening to the rumble of the wheels on the track, the gravel thirsty tones of the engine and the cool breeze winding its way through the carriages.

Like so many before, you will be chugging along, 19th century style, through the stunning Rajasthan untouched countryside and no doubt you will spot Langur monkeys that sit, swing, and wait in hope for snippets of food from generous passengers! From Phulad station, a short car journey back to the hotel will reunite you with your bike. Our destination is Jawai. This area is part of the tribal belt with the handsome turban wearing Shepards. We are in leopard country, and we may have the unique opportunity to encounter Leopards in their natural habitat. The Shepards and leopards live in an extraordinary harmony. Our camp for the night is the hospitable Godwad Safari Camp where you can look forward to resting in the sounds of nature.

Day -8: Jawai - Jodhpur 150km

We begin with an early morning jeep safari experience in this wonderous landscape of rolling rock hills, seeking out the leopards rising from their dens. Returning to the camp for breakfast. We then mount our bikes and ride to Jodhpur

On the way you will get to experience the unique and somewhat mystical Om Banna Dam - Bullet Baba Temple. A shrine that pays homage to a local young man and his magical motorcycle. Even the greatest of cynics will be moved by the care, devotion and love bestowed upon the spirit of this motorcycle and its rider. He is said to this day care for distressed drives and riders as they pass through his village.

Continue onward to the blue city with its imposing fortress. There will be free time, to relax or take a tour of the mad and wonderful clock tower market.

Day -9: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer [280 km]

After breakfast we will ride to the Jodhpur fort and explore this most incredible and imposing building with its view over the blue city.

One of the longer days riding, we run the roads to Jaisalmer. The highlight is the accommodation, our favourite, Hotel Gulaal, a modern Havali, an architectural marvel with roof top views to the fortress town of Jaisalmer.

Day -10: Jaisalmer – Thar Desert (80km)

Our morning will be spent exploring this ancient and beautiful fortress town of Jaisalmer, it has its own special character and feeling. Walking ancient lane ways and exploring old Haveli’s. After a lunch in the city, we head into the vast timeless space of the Thar desert. Riding back roads of shifting sands. After few hours ride on this day, we will reach a camp site. Enjoy camel ride at sunset and dinner. Then sleep under the stars or the camp. We can give this option to people who want to sleep in the comfort of tent than in open under the stars. Night in the desert.

Day -11: Thar Desert – Gajner [300km]

Departing the great desert city of Jaisalmer, you may feel a rich sense of wonder and romance following you as you cut tracks across the vast Rajasthani landscape.

We tackle our longest day, but on smooth roads, and are rewarded with the utterly beautiful Gajner Palace hunting lodge. A vast and grand lake side heritage property that will have you feeling like a Maharaja or Maharani.

Day -12: Gajner - Shekhawati [230 km]

After a leisurely breakfast we will ride on to the bustling desert city of Bikaner. Visiting the fort that rises out of the land as though carved from the rock it sits upon.

Once fuelled up we will ride towards Shekhawati, a region known for rich merchants who once lived in opulent Havelis.

Known as the open art gallery of India. You will be amazed at the beautiful fresco painted Havalis.

Day -13: Shekhawati – Jaipur (190km)

Our last days riding beginning with exploring the Nawalgarh and Mandawa Havalis villages before hitting the road for an easy 190kms back to Jaipur.

A special dinner to celebrate this extraordinary inner and outer adventure that we know will leave you feeling more deeply connected to what matters to you, with new lifelong friends a deep appreciation of India and rich motorcycling stories to share with your friends.

Day -14: Jaipur – Delhi – depart

Checklist:

Suitable equipment is essential to ensure this adventure is a success! Travel light: try to keep it below 15 kg (33 lbs) for your domestic flight, and it will make it easier for you to handle your luggage.

  • Duffle bag (with some plastic bags to protect the contents) or large backpack without an external metal frame. You can lock it with a padlock. Possibly a backpack cover. Before leaving, attach a label to your bag with your contact details and India Personal Tour's contact details.
  • A small backpack of 10/20 litres for the daytime (camera, sunscreen lotion).
  • For people sensitive to the cold: a warmer sleeping bag, e.g., suitable for -10 ºC, or an extra duvet. A sleeping bag liner is recommended.
