The trip kicks off with a smooth arrival in Jaipur: you're met at the airport and transferred to the hotel in the city centre. Those who arrive in Delhi can also plan to go to Agra on same day trip by train. (Extensions available at extra cost).
In the evening get introduced with your tour guide and motorcycles.
From Delhi you can reach Jaipur by train, taxi or flight, let us know if you want us to arrange this for you.
Early morning before breakfast we stretch a little (very important) and head to Nahargarh Fort (Lion Fort) for a short ride (18 km one way). Get a feel of your motorcycle and reach at top of the Hill near the Fort.
Enjoy a soul-filling sunrise.
Return to hotel.
After breakfast, visit of Pink city covering Amber Palace, Wind Palace, and Water Palace, stirring your senses and getting to know your bikes in the Jaipur City.
After lunch our ride begins onto lndia's largest Salt Lake with dazzling white lustres and amazing bird life. Enjoy luxury tents & opens spaces of the Sambhar Salt lake.
Drive through small villages and beautiful countryside. The landscape is rustic and you will see men wearing colourful turbans every few kilometres. Arrive and check into hotel then enjoy time to explore this deeply spiritual city of Pushkar Sarovar with it's 52 bathing ghats surrounding the sacred lake.
After breakfast drive to Deogarh Mahal. We will take smooth highways to reach Deogarh. Arrive and check into Deogarh Mahal. This 4 star heritage property was a 17th century castle, an absolutely imposing and impressive structure in the Aravali Hills, that will have you feeling you are in a fairytale. Overnight in Deogarh Mahal.
After breakfast, for a short while, we will leave our two wheeled companions parked up to rest and drive a few kilo- metres on four wheels to Kamlighat railway station.
We will board an old British narrow-gauge train and embark on a short journey to Phulad, some 1hr 15 minutes afar. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy this preserved piece of history listen- ing to the rumble of the wheels on the track, the gravel thirsty tones of the engine and the cool breeze winding its way through the carriages.
Like so many before, you will be chugging along, 19th century style, through the stunning Rajasthan untouched countryside and no doubt you will spot Langur monkeys that sit, swing, and wait in hope for snippets of food from generous passengers!
From Phulad station, a short car journey back to the hotel will reunite you with your bike. With time to enjoy the pleasure palace that is Deogarh Mahal and the very pretty town of Deogarh.
From here we continue to ride south still bordering the 1.8 billion years old Aravalli hills and head for Udaipur. Stopping at the Kumbalgarh fort along the way to be mesmerized by the size of the area and the walls of the fort which did their best to keep many invaders away. Cer- tainly, a great spot for photo- graphs that capture this historic place.
Arriving in the City of Lakes, the home base of Good Vibrations you will have time to enjoy the evening colours of the Old city.
We spend our second night in Udaipur and while you're here you'd be able to tell, why. Known as the City of Lakes or the Venice of India, with a palace that nestles beside Lake Pichola and home to the royal family who live in a private part of the palace. The remainder of the palace is open to the public and is an architectural delight to wander and admire. Udaipur has a gentle feel to it and is easy to navigate on your bike, by tuktuk or with your own two feet. One of our joys is to ride the city and its limits in the cool evening and soak up the bustling atmosphere. There are so many places to eat, shop or just wander and people watch. In the centre of the old town is a very scared Jagdish Hindu Temple dating from the 1600s and is most worthy of a climb of the steps to the temple entrance.
After breakfast and chai, the elixir of a rider's life, our bikes will be ready to depart with us from Udaipur entering country roads. Our destination is Jawai. This area is part of the tribal belt with the handsome turban wearing Shep- ards. We are in leopard country, and we may have the unique opportunity to encounter Leopards in their natural habitat. The Shepards and leopards live in an extraordinary harmony. Our camp for the night is the hospitable Godwad Safari Camp where you can look forward to resting in the sounds of nature.
Shhhhh. Behold the true Royalty at Jawai, the leopard country. This particular leopard's name is Ellie and if you're lucky, you would get to meet her. (from a distance).
We begin with an early morning jeep safari experience with the leopards. Returning to the camp for breakfast, then ride to Jodhpur.
On the way you will get to experience the unique and somewhat mystical Om Banna Dam - BULLET TEMPLE. A shrine that pays homage to a local young man and his magical motorcycle. Even the greatest of cynics will be moved by the care, devotion and love bestowed upon the spirit of this motorcycle and its rider. He is said to this day care for distressed drives and riders as they pass through his village.
Continue onward to the blue city with its imposing fortress. There will be free time, to relax or take a tour of the mad and wonderful clock tower market.
Day 10: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (280 km)
After breakfast we will ride to the Jodhpur fort and explore this most incredible building with its view over the blue city.
According to local legend, Lord Surya, the Sun God, bestows his prolonged presence upon Jodhpur, granting the city long daylight hours. This has led to Jodhpur being affectionately known as "Surya Nagri or the "City of the Sun"
The highlight is the accommodation, our favourite, Hotel Gulaal, a modern Haveli, an architectural marvel with roof top views to the fortress town of Jaisalmer.
Our morning will be spent exploring this ancient and beautiful fortress town of Golden city, Jaisalmer, embracing you in its own special character and feeling.
Walking ancient lane ways and exploring old Havelis. After a lunch in the city, we head into the vast timeless space of the Thar desert. Riding back roads of shifting sands. A ride of exploration with an opportunity to enjoy a camel ride at sunset and dinner. Then sleep under the stars or in the camp. The choice will be yours.
Departing the great Thar desert, you may discover the desert poet has been inspired within you.
We tackle our longest day, but on smooth roads, and are rewarded with the utterly beautiful Gajner Palace hunting lodge. A vast and grand heritage property that will have you feeling like a Maharaja or Maharani.
After a leisurely breakfast we will ride on to the bustling desert city of Bikaner. Visit the fort. Once fuelled up we will ride towards Shekhawati region known for rich merchants who once lived in opulent Havelis. On the way we will stop in Rajaldesar village to watch Holi dance performance by different village folk artists groups. After lunch we will ride onto Shekhawati.
Known as the open art gallery of India. You will be amazed at the beautiful fresco painted Havelis.
Our last days riding will be spent celebrating Colours! The day when fun is expect- ed, and colours are thrown. An explosion of joy and permission before exploring the Nawalgarh and Mandawa Havelis villages before hitting the road for an easy 190kms back to Jaipur.
A special dinner to celebrate this extraordinary inner and outer adventure that we know will leave you feeling more deeply connect- ed to what matters to you and with new lifelong friends.
